It’s a hazy afternoon; the sun low in the sky. The smell of lilac and cigarettes lingers in the air; it’s Summer in Paris, and you’re thinking about the 90’s (a little further back; the 1890’s, of course!). France’s first modern cabaret is in full swing, “Le Chat Noir”, with dancers and patrons lost in the music, the comedy and the poetry.
